CHINA VISION TRIP

“I was doubtful that God could do much in such a short amount of time, but after having spent two weeks in China on the vision trip, I was delightfully surprised at how much God showed me, spoke to me, and used me and everyone else on my team! As one of my teammates commented on the plane ride home, ‘I would describe the trip as opening eyes and opening hearts.’ I think we both witnessed more God-movements than either of us expected. ” Mary Ann, age 25
During the first portion of this trip, you will experience China’s urban culture by prayer-walking through the historical and cultural sites of a major city. You engage in team building exercises and hear testimonies from bi-vocational professionals who are pursuing their careers and serving God at the same time; and learn about God’s work there. We may also visit an orphanage or other ministries.
On the second portion of the trip, we will fly into a second-tier city of a rural northwestern province, where you will meet Christians, prayer-walk, and absorb some of the local culture before heading out to the town where you can visit a village school and serve for the next five to six days by facilitating English conversations from a prepared curriculum.
At the village school, TESOL teachers will lead classes to high school English teachers. Others will lead an English camp for high school students. Each day includes classroom activities, interest groups, and free time to visit local homes or places of worship. At the end of the program, the team will debrief and fly back together to the original city of entry.
Within these two weeks, you will have touched the lives of people you may otherwise never have met. You will have been exposed to a breadth of eye-opening experiences from a mega-city, host to the Olympics or the World Expo to a hamlet in the backwaters of China’s hinterland, with much to reflect upon and offer back to God in your own unique way.
