The bulk of our time will be spent in Kyrgyzstan (Central Asia) where we will be supporting a Kyrgyz-led ministry as we meet nominal Muslims in this poor former Communist country. Most likely you’ve never heard of Kyrgyzstan. This is a small country in the heart of the Asian continent, at the foot of the beautiful Tien Shan mountains to the west of China. I’ll have a chance to meet and minister to different Central Asian peoples—Kyrgyz, Kazakhs, Uzbeks, Russian, Uighurs—and a number of Chinese and Koreans too! Many them are cultural (non-practicing) Muslims.
In Kyrgyzstan we will teach conversational English to high-school and college-aged students. As I make friends with my students, I’ll share God’s love with them, too..

Tentmakers are ambassadors for Christ, self-supporting like the apostle Paul, who made tents for a living. Tentmaking provides both work and ministry platforms. By doing a good job, tentmakers contribute to society and demonstrate how Christian values are lived out in the real world. By reaching out to their colleagues, they have natural connections with local people, who are part of their everyday lives.
